I just got home and a car is blocking my parking spot.  So I wrote a calm, polite note asking the owner to not block people in and slipped it under the car’s windshield wiper.  As I was re-reading my note to check for passive agression, something just didn’t seem right about it.  Something was off.  I misspelled ‘courteous.’  I knew it, but I didn’t want to go upstairs to my apartment to get a fresh sheet a paper— that would be too much work.

So now I’m one of those people.  The ones that try a little too hard.  The ones that overreach their vocabulary, looking foolish when they want to look smart.

Maybe I should stick to emoticons.
